Только активные действия Украины и стран Запада смогут остановить дальнейшую российскую агрессию.
Об этом во время конференции «Российская агрессия в Украине. Баланс и перспективы», которая проходит в понедельник в Варшаве, заявил посол Украины в Польше Андрей Дещица, – передает «Укринформ».
«Благодаря вооруженным силам Украины и массовой мобилизации добровольцев, которые в начале 2014 года сыграли основную роль в сдерживании российских войск на востоке Украины, проблема распространения российской агрессии на определенное время задержана.
Благодаря санкциям, которые были введены ЕС и США и демократической антироссийской коалицией, Россия не продолжает политику дальнейшей агрессии», – заявил Дещица.
Он подчеркнул, что на сегодняшний день для Украины есть три серьезных вызова, которые будут определять безопасность Украины, региона и дальнейшую активность России.
Во-первых, идет речь о модернизации украинской армии: как быстро и эффективно она будет проходить и сможет ли Киев это сделать до возможного следующего напряжения. В этом контексте он отметил, что украинская армия активно модернизируется и идет в направлении дальнейшего укрепления по стандартам НАТО.
Вторым вызовом он назвал позицию НАТО относительно Украины. Он подчеркнул, что на сегодняшний день Киев не получил сигнала, что Украина может стать членом Североатлантического альянса, такого как в 90-х годах прошлого века получила Польша и другие.
Дещица подчеркнул, что такой сигнал помог бы мобилизовать украинское общество вокруг темы реформ и дальнейшего сближения с Западом.
Третьим вызовом посол назвал вопрос вооруженного конфликта на востоке Украины и как он будет развиваться в дальнейшем.
Украинский дипломат отметил, что НАТО колеблется по поводу предоставления Украине четкого сигнала относительно перспективы членства, поскольку не знает, как далее будет действовать Россия в Украине.
Напомним, ранее Дещица заявил, что за обстрелом консульства Польши в Луцке стоит Россия.
