28 вересня через землетрус силою 7,5 балів за шкалою Ріхтера на острові Сулавезі, Індонезія, загинула щонайменше 1 особа, 10 постраждали.
Поштовхи були зафіксовані на глибині 18 км під землею, передає Mirror.
Вже зараз науковці та синоптики застерігають про можливе цунамі, яке може обрушитись на Центральні та Західні провінції Сулавесі.
Влада острова евакуює жителів прибережної зони, щоб уникнути можливих жертв унаслідок цунамі.
«Ми очікуємо ще більше розрухи та жертв», — повідомляє Сутопо Пурво Нугрохо, представник національного агентства з пом’якшення наслідків стихійних лих BNPB.
У липні на острові Ламбок в Індонезії стався землетрус магнітудою в 6,4 бала. Епіцентр землетрусу знаходився на глибині 7,5 км і 1 км на південний схід від міста Лелонгкен, повідомляє Геологічна служба США.
