Патриарх Варфоломей одобрил создание единой украинской православной церкви. Президент Украины Петр Порошенко в ближайшее время объявит о начале процедуры создания единой украинской православной церкви.
Об этом РБК-Украина сообщили источники в Администрации президента, информирует news.eizvestia.com.
По словам источников, соответствующее соглашение достигнуто в ходе переговоров Порошенко с вселенским патриархом Варфоломеем.
Напомним, в сентябре прошлого года Порошенко исключил возможность запрета деятельности Украинской православной церкви Московского патриархата.
В частности, в ежегодном послании Верховной Раде он заявил, что признание автокефалии украинской православной церкви, на которое рассчитывает Киев, не означает появления в стране так называемой государственной церкви.
Порошенко также исключил запрет деятельности других православных конфессий.
«Но никто не имеет права лишить украинцев права на собственную церковь», — отметил президент.
Он также подчеркнул, что хотя государство и отделено от церкви, оно не может пассивно наблюдать за тем, как другие страны используют зависимые церковные институты для реализации своих политических целей.
