Сегодня в Украине — день памяти жертв Бабьего яра.
За годы Второй мировой войны в Бабьем Яру погибло более 100 тысяч человек — евреев, цыган, караимов, военнопленных, участников украинского националистического движения сопротивления, пациентов психиатрической клиники, пишет Корреспондент.
В Украине в субботу, 29 сентября, отмечается День памяти жертв Бабьего Яра – евреев, цыган, военнопленных и других невинных людей, убитых нацистской Германией в Бабьем Яру в 1941 году.
27 сентября 1941 года нацистские власти оккупированного Киева отдали приказ о том, чтобы 29 сентября еврейское население города к восьми часам утра явилось в назначенное место с документами и ценными вещами.
За невыполнение приказа грозил расстрел. При этом было объявлено о намерении провести перепись и переселение евреев. Собравшихся палачи согнали к Бабьему Яру, отобрали у них все ценности, а затем расстреляли.
За два дня, 29-30 сентября, были расстреляны 33 тысячи 771 человек — почти все еврейское население Киева.
Всего за годы Второй мировой войны в Бабьем Яру погибло более 100 тыс. человек — евреев, цыган, караимов, советских военнопленных, участников украинского националистического движения сопротивления, пациентов психиатрической клиники и представителей других национальных или социальных групп, которых оккупанты считали «лишними».
Расстрелы в Бабьем Яру продолжались до освобождения Киева от оккупантов.
Бабий Яр наряду с Освенцимом стал ужасным символом Холокоста на территории Восточной Европы.
Трагедия Бабьего Яра отмечается в Украине на государственном уровне.
Президент Украины Петр Порошенко 29 сентября также почтил память жертв трагедии.
«Бабий Яр — трагедия киевлян и всей Украины, незаживающая рана на теле нашей планеты. Это место — братская могила различных народов и известный во всем мире символ Холокоста», — говорится в сообщении пресс-службы главы государства.
Напомним, весной в Германии нашли возможного участника убийств в Бабьем Яру.
А год назад в Германии задержали причастных к расстрелу в Бабьем Яру.
