Германия предлагает сделать общественный транспорт бесплатным с целью снижения уровня загрязнения воздуха.

В попытке добиться понижения эмиссии парниковых газов и избежать крупных экологических штрафов власти Германии предлагают сократить дорожное движение, сделав общественный транспорт бесплатным.
Первый эксперимент стартует в конце этого года в пяти городах страны, передает ЭП.
«Мы рассматриваем вариант введения бесплатного пользования общественным транспортом для сокращения числа частных автомобилей», — заявили три немецких министра верховному комиссару ЕС по окружающей среде.
В Украине изменят правила льготного проезда в общественном транспорте
Идея будет протестирована самое позднее в конце года в пяти городах западной Германии, включая Бонн, Эссен и Мангейм.
К другим предложенным на рассмотрение комиссии ЕС мерам относится дальнейшее сокращение выхлопов автобусов и такси, создание зон низкой эмиссии и поддержка сервисов каршеринга.
Эти шаги необходимо предпринять как можно быстрее, потому что Германия, как и 8 других крупнейших стран — членов Евросоюза, в том числе Франция, Испания и Италия, не уложились в сроки по сокращению уровня вредных выбросов.
Общественный транспорт Германии пользуется большой популярностью, учитывая его эффективность и относительную дешевизну, по сравнению с другими крупными странами Европы.
В 2017 году число пассажирских перевозок достигло 10,3 млрд, и потребуется серьезное планирование, прежде чем можно будет перейти на бесплатный проезд.
Глава Ассоциации городов Германии Гельмут Деди уже заявил, что «ожидает ясно сформулированного ответа на вопрос, как будет финансироваться бесплатный транспорт».
